Entry for September 27, 2005
I do not know how people with multiple kids keep up with different schedules and stuff. I have a friend with an 8 month old, 4 year old, 7 and 9 year olds and between taking all three older kids to school and their sports/music/dance lessons she is never home in the evenings. We have thought about letting Alex and Ashley play soccer, but I am daily reminded that it just would not work for us right now.
Alex has been having some struggles with his bowel movements and the medicine we had been using with some success is just not working anymore. He is getting tummy aches from it and just doesn't even want to eat. We went to the dr today and got a prescription for a new medication that should help without the cramping and stuff that he has had. We have done everything with modifying his diet (whole wheat/ high fiber/ flax seed oil/ metamucil etc..) and cutting out dairy and stuff and it just is not helping him so I hope this will help him.
He is also having a very hard time with allergies and breathing. He came home from school early yesterday complaining of chest pains and that someone was "sitting" on his chest. They did a breath test at the dr's today and said it is showing that he has some obstruction in his airways and we are going to use a allergy/asthma medication for six weeks and then retake the test to see if it improves his lung and breath capacity. If it does then he would have slight asthma and we will look into the different treatment options then. HOpefully we can get all of his health problems worked out so he can go to school each day and concentrate and not worry about having accidents all the time. He hasn't gone a whole week to school at all this year. I've had to bring him home early at least once a week it seems like. :( At least his schoolwork isn't suffering though. He seems to breeze through his work that he brings home when he has missed school, but I know it isn't a good habit for him to be missing so much school- and I don't want him to have to worry about having accidents at school all the time (he had one three weeks ago).
Well Rich is working late since he stayed home with the girls while I took Alex to the dr this morning, and will get home just in time for me to hand over the kids and go to a baby shower tonight so I need to get off of here and get some stuff done while the babies are sleeping so I can take the kids to the store when Ashley comes home from school and find a gift to take tonight to the shower.
