Entry for February 01, 2006
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I had a long post typed out and lost it.... darn!!
Well the short of it is:
Angela is cruising a little bit on furniture, and a little bit with a walk behind toy walker. She has two top teeth breaking through the gums which puts her at four teeth. She isn't sleeping and napping well and we are hoping the teething will die down for a bit and her cold will go away and she will start sleeping and playing better.
Alyssa is showing signs that she is ready for potty training, but I'm not ready to do it yet so I need to change my mind and just work with her- without any pressure. She is showing jealousy of Angela, but at the same time cracking us up with trying to keep up with Ashley and Alex and being a big girl. She has pink eye right now so we are stuck at home with her- no play group or play dates for us this week.
Ashley is having a hard time lately with stuff. She is continually the aggressor and won't leave the others alone and is the one that bugs others till they start fighting back. We are working with her to figure out something that really interests her to hopefully get her involved in so we have less of her bugging everyone else and more of them playing nicely together. :)
Alex is just taking off with reading. He is in the highest reading group in his class. Two kids are above that reading group, but he is in the highest group. His report card came home and he did really good. His biggest faults are that he sometimes doesn't read all the directions and doesn't complete the work because he is talking too much or rushing through it. He generally knows all the stuff and I don't really have to work with him on it at all. He also has bad handwriting, but Rich and I don't care about that and have told him that we put absolutely no emphasis on his handwriting skills and to do his best, but not worry about it.
Last weekend Rich put a closet system into the girls room so we are finally folding clothes and putting them in drawers for the girls... it's amazing how much faster I can get through their laundry folding them vs hanging up everything.
