Entry for October 04, 2005
Well today has been a busy day. I'm sitting down for just a few minutes before we get the house tidy'ed up and dinner warmed up.
This morning we woke up and got Alex out the door and onto the school bus. We came home and Ashley and Alyssa played with the train tracks for a while. Then they pulled out a little crafty set where they decorate paper flower and butterfly cut outs with stamps and glue and glitter and then attach them to little sticks. Thus we had glitter all over their little table. Then they found some old christmas plastic plates and played with them cutting them up and making circles and necklaces (they cut the rims off- then put the rims around their necks- necklace). Then it was time to eat lunch and do Ashley's hair and take her to school. We dropped her off at school and went to the dr's office for Alyssa's two year check up. She did pretty well- she is 26 lbs and 35 inches tall. She is holding steady at about the 50% in weight and height and head circumfrence. Then we went grocery shopping and came home and Alyssa and Angela fell asleep in the car.
While the girls were sleeping I sewed up a little printed fabric book for a friends baby shower tonight and made a little thin two layer blanket for her as well. Then Alex and Ashley came home and we got them a snack. Now Alyssa's up from her nap so I need to get everyone to help clean up and then we'll eat dinner. Rich ate a big lunch at work and i know there will be lots of munchies at the shower tonight so the kids are just going to get leftovers in the fridge of their choice. Then I can have that all done and cleaned up and Rich can just do something fun with the kids when he gets home and I leave.
We did something funny on Sunday. It was our anniversary and earlier the week prior we had talked about the fact that we wouldn't be able to get out and do a date or anything that weekend. Then we both completely forgot about it! Sunday as I was putting leftovers in the fridge and Rich was doing the dishes I noticed a cup of yogurt hiding in the back of the fridge. I looked at the exp. date on it and it was Oct 5th so I was trying to figure out in my head if it was past the 5th or not.... Then the lightbulb clicked on and I realized it was our anniversary. I handed Rich the empty pan from the leftovers and told him Happy Anniversary. He looked completely shocked and then we both started laughing that we had forgotten about it. :) After his buisness trip this weekend and next week we'll schedule a babysitter and get out and do something... but I thought it was noteworthy that we both forgot about it!! lol! :)
