Entry for September 27, 2006
Today my new visiting teachers came over. They are both new in the ward. One is a 75 year old newlywed- she's so cute . The other is a mom of six that just moved here from Pensylvania... I'm looking forward to getting a chance to know them better and better in the coming months as we see each other frequently.
Then we went to playgroup at the park. Unfortunately no one else showed up, but the little girls and I had fun playing dispite that. We ate some lunch there too and then meet Rich at a furniture store. Our living room couch is on it's last leg and staples and we had intended to replace it next year with new living room furniture. Sunday Rich was just playing with Angela and was laying on the couch and swung her across the back of the couch to place her on the floor. (something he's done hundreds of times with all the kids) A staple was loose on the back of the couch and unknown to him it caught Angela and scraped her all the way down her chest (she was just wearing a diaper). We've been doing bandaid fixes on the couch trying to get it to last till next year, but we decided it's just not safe anymore... so we tried to find something to replace it with, but I didn't find anything I liked.
I've got both of my kids home from school early today. I got back from furniture shopping and dropping into the healthfood store to get almond butter since I was driving by it and it's so far away (bought 2 jars this time... yum!). I drove up and unloaded the girls. Went to the bathroom and the phone rang and it was the school. Apparently Alex was in gym class and threw up. His allergies are acting up and I knew it was an asthma attack that caused the coughing spell which resulted in him throwing up. School policy is if you throw up- you go home.
So... I change the girls diapers and load them back into the car and drive over to the school. I'm in the office signing Alex out and I hear the secretary talking to a teacher and saying that she would watch for the little girl and take care of her... I'm not really paying attention until I look up from signing Alex out and see Ashley standing on the other side of the reception area and the receptionist is helping her put a tooth into a little cute tooth shaped pendant thing. So... Ashley's tooth that has been loose for weeks just popped and started bleeding in class- so a teacher helped her pull the tooth out and she had blood on her shirt and needed to change it before she could go back to class. So... I decided since there was only 1/2 hour left of the school day I'd check her out and bring her home too.
Now it's dinner time and I need to figure out something to make and feed the family before it's time to take Alex to the cub scout pack meeting tonight. So why am I here??? :)
