We are all given speed bumps in life. Some are larger than others. Some we are able to slow down, but generally speed back up afterwards, and others are so large that if we try to barrel over them we take out the fender in our cars...
Today we were given a speed bump. And it's a small speedbump, but one that definitly bums me out. I didn't sleep well last night, and was laying in a bed with a little girl for about 2 hours and while I was laying there I thought- you know what... I'm going to make cookies tomorrow.
This morning we discovered that our oven wasn't working. Sometime in the middle of the night it stopped working. The display has gone out, and since that controls the oven, we are ovenless until that get's fixed.
So... no chocolate chip cookies, or sugar cookies for me today...
I can still make no-bake cookies though! :)
This speed bump should be short in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully my great fix-it hubbie can replace the part on his own and we can save the money the service call would have eaten up.
I'll just have to live without an oven for a little while.

That stinks, huh? Wouldn't bother me much b/c I don't cook, but I bet it does put a big crimp in your kitchen work!
I'm glad you can view it as a speed bump. Hopefully Rich can fix it quickly and you can get to baking those yummo goods for Christmas.

If it were me I think I'd be cheering.(Well, not really, but I wouldn't really care. But I think I know how you feel. Since your artform and enjoyment comes from cooking, it would be akin to my piano breaking I hope Rich can fix it, so you can get back to your holiday cooking. If we lived closer, I would be more upset about your oven breaking than my own because I love your cooking. (:
Did you get your oven fixed yet??? I'm sure that is driving you crazy!
