We had a wonderful Christmas here at home with our little family, and a great relaxing weekend as well. I hope to get the pictures up on the family blog in the next few days.
I was thinking today that I didn't get any cards or christmas letter out. I'm sorry I didn't get it out to those who really enjoy receiving christmas cards and letters. I was talking to a friend and we were saying how that is a tradition that sadly seems to be dying down. In our parents time it was the important thing that I remember my mom making sure she got christmas cards out on time so they would reach their destinations before Christmas came. Many times it was one of 2-3 letters per year she would have or share with old friends and aquainances.
In this new age of internet and email and blogs and facebook- it seems less important to write out a letter about what our family has done in the past year. Most of the stories that might have been mentioned in a christmas letter are told in great detail on blogs and through emails.
So I did not get a christmas letter, or card sent out to our family and friends, but I want to share my love for all our family and friends. Merry Christmas to everyone. May the joy that we have felt this month as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ; be a joy that we can take with us throughout this coming year. May we keep his examples of love and charity with us through the cold dreary days of winter, and the sweltering days of summer. We have been given many blessings, and some of the greatest blessings we have are the love and friendships of our family and friends. Thank you for your love and friendship and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Julie
