The kids were drawn almost magnetically towards the cyber zone where they have computer’s set up and kids can play on Nickelodeon websites. They have about 10 of them set up so each of the kids was able to have their own computer.
After a while we got ourselves some lunch at the mall food court, and then headed back to our room. We changed and then went out to the pool. The pool was definitely the highlight of that hotel. They had 3 or 4 large water slides, a large pool with zero entry on one side, and water cannon type things to play with, and a meandering area over to the deep end. Then a separate fenced in area with a small toddler size slide and water sprinklers to play in. Alex and Ashley took off to the Large slides, and Alyssa and Angela and I went and played in the little kids area and over in the zero entry shallow area. We had a lot of fun. They had life jackets that you could check out and put on little kids, so I put ones on Alyssa and Angela and we went all over the deep end.
We were all having a great time when suddenly it started raining. Not slowly, but pouring down rain. It was probably a sight to see, everyone scrambling to grab their stuff and keep it dry, and gathering kids. Alyssa and Angela were freezing and upset from the rain. I ran them under a large tent area and stood looking for Ashley and Alex. It was still pouring down, and I wasn’t sure what to do. There were a few other parents there with their little kids and I asked another mom if she would mind keeping Alyssa and Angela with her for a moment while I found my other two children. She easily agreed and I went to look for the others. Ashley was easy to find and I sent her over to the tent to be with Alyssa and Angela. Alex was harder to find. I finally spied him up on the steps for one of the slides, and waited for him as he came down. Once I had all of the kids all together we headed back to the room. We were all freezing and quickly changed out of wet swimsuits and into dry clothes.
It was around 3pm, and the kids were satisfied to watch some tv while the rain shower finished. Rich got back from his day at the conference around 5:00, and we decided to take the kids to Beaches and Cream. It’s an ice cream parlor that we went to earlier this year when we had a trip without the kids. We parked at the Boardwalk parking lot and walked around the boardwalk to get there. We went past the hotel Rich and I stayed at this summer on our little trip and showed the kids where that was.
While we were walking it started to rain- just lightly, but enough that we all got damp and wet. It was a little chilly, but not to bad and the kids thought it was funny when we started singing “I’m singing in the rain”… we couldn’t skip and dance to it though… the boardwalk was kind of slippery with the water on it. We got there and gave the kids an option to have dinner with ice cream as a dessert, or just ice cream as dinner. I’m sure most of you can guess what they choose… lol!
Alex chose a chocolate ice cream scoop on a waffle cone. Ashley chose a large brownie sundae. Alyssa and Angela had a vanilla milkshake that they split into two glasses for them. Rich had some onion rings and then a big sundae and I had a salad and then a brownie with scoop of ice cream on top. Alex needed a second wafflecone and scoop of ice cream to fill him up- with Ashley getting a 3 scoop sundae, we didn’t have a problem with him having 2 scoops of ice cream and 2 waffle cones. We had a good time and the kids loved having ice cream for dinner.
