Entry for March 02, 2006
Well I made it through half of the travel that Rich will do this month. I just have next week to get through and then he won't have another trip for a while.
The kids are always getting into stuff in the office and I can never find anything when I go to pay bills and stuff. Paperwork is always all over the floor from where they pushed it off of the desk. Their computer was in the office and I decided I would see if I put it out in the main area if I could keep them out of that room a little bit more. So tuesday was my rearranging day. I moved the piano over about two feet on the wall and put the kids computer table in the corner of the piano room/formal dinning room that previously was just filled with the piano and piles of toys. I moved the toys over to the wall between the kitchen and the living room and we'll see how well this works.
Oh... anyone have a really diplomatic way to tell a mother-in-law to stop buying presents for Ashley that involve markers and paint etc?? I want to encourage her creativity, she loves to paint and draw and stuff, but she will not recognize boundaries and no matter how many times I ask her to come to me and let me get her set up with them so we don't get it all over the floor, she doesn't. Markers wind up on the wall and furniture, and water colors when used on the floor don't work very well when the floor is carpet and the water leaks right through.... I think I'm just going to ban paint and markers from the house until Angela is five... by then maybe my kids will stop ruining things. They can color and draw with colored pencils and crayons- those at least are easier to paint over on the wall, and don't really mark up furniture or stain carpet.
Oh... and Rich and I have decided that Alyssa is our child who will just wind up with all the accidental injuries. She's only 2 1/2 years old and we have already had more injuries with her than Alex and Ashley combined. She was opening the door at the YMCA this morning and wearing flip flops and let go and the door caught the toenail on her big toe and flipped it backwards. It's not the whole toenail , about the first 1/3 of it and then a big bruise for the next 1/3 of the toe from the trauma.
It's quiet in the house... a small miracle considering it's the middle of the day. Both little girls are sleeping and the older kids are at school. I should be doing laundry, but thought I'd just spend a little time doing fun stuff for me... the laundry will wait... :)
