Happy Valentines Day!

I know... it's a little late.

I've never been a huge valentines day fan. There's no history or tradition behind the holiday- it's purely a holiday made up for commercial reasons. It is sweet to celebrate love, but it has become way too huge and commercial for my tastes.

We had a ward valentines day dance that was so much fun on Friday night. The girls had a blast and just LOVED dancing for hours! Alyssa really broke out of her shyness and was dancing up a storm. I loved seeing her having so much fun, and our friends noticed too how outgoing and happy she was dancing around.

On Saturday we had a low key day at home, Ashley had a friend over for a while, then we decided to finally buy ourselves a bed, instead of just having our mattress on a frame with no headboard or anything... so we took all 4 kids to not just one, but two furniture stores... they did surprisingly well. Although they did try to talk us into buying more items for their rooms... lol! Then we had a great romantic dinner at Golden Corral. :) I was shocked at how busy it was... I don't think I've ever seen it so full... but it was a good dinner, I didn't have to cook- and we all got to eat food we wanted to eat.

The kids were home from school yesterday for the holiday and now that we have school today, the girls are all starting to feel sick. I'm not sure why the timing is like this- they had a 3 day weekend they felt fine during, but are sick now... so we'll have a pj's and movies day and let them rest and hopefully feel better tomorrow so they don't have too much make up work...
