Last night we went as a family to the Blue and Gold Banquet for the cub scouts. Alex of course threw a tantrum when we told him he had to wear his cub scout shirt. He just does not like it at all because it's stiff and itchy to him...
Cub scouts is a whole new thing to me. I grew up with five girls and one little brother. By the time he started cub scouts I was up in Young Womens and didn't really pay any attention to what he was doing. Last night Alex got his first patch, and I guess they give out "mother pins" to the mom's when the boys get patches... I had no idea what it was for and had to ask Rich about it when I sat back down.
It was a fun evening and the cub scout leaders did a great job setting it up and making it a fun time for everyone.
I was pleased that my "experiment" turned out well. I made augratin potato's, but I did a double batch and put them in my crockpot instead of the single batch in the oven that I normally do. They turned out pretty good and people seemed to like them.
I think I'm going to start putting some recipe's on here, somewhere on the blog... I just have to figure out how I'm going to format them... so when I do I'll put that one on first. Shanna I told you I'd figure out a way to get it to you easily! :)
Today I've got a huge mess in the kitchen to clean up from yesterday, so I need to go and tackle that. My dad should be stopping by either tonight or tomorrow night on his drive from Tennessee back to Utah- so it would probably be good if the house wasn't completely messy. lol! :)

That Blue and Gold banquet was fun. I didn't know about the mother pin thing either - I could have known if I'd made a point to pay attention and see what the other moms did when they went up there. But oh well, live and learn...
that is fun to read about. I feel the same way too, I was 6 & 9 years older than my brothers, and pretty much out of the house when all the scouting stuff started, so my son is not going to have an educated mom LOL... unless I end up w/ that calling LOL
Oh Yeah - and thanks for the slow-cooker potato dish recipe!!
