A surprise visit

The following conversation is real. It was not staged or scripted in any way. I may have forgotten the specific words, but it'll give you the general gist of the conversation.


Thursday night- 9:09 pm.

The phone rings- I've just gotten Alyssa to sleep. Angela took a nap today and she is still awake. Rich picks up the phone, see's it's an arizona cell phone and hands it to me...

Me: "Hello!" {I know it's Amanda- she's coming out the next weekend to go to Time out for Women with me}
Amanda: "Are you ready for a fun filled weekend?"
Me: "I'm getting excited!"
Amanda: "I had the worst longest day today and I kept telling myself- just till 5 o'clock, and then I'm done..."
Me: "chuckle"
Amanda: "so I told you our flight stuff and you know we are coming in really late right?"
Me: "yeah- your landing around midnight, so you'll get here close to 1am right?"
Amanda: "Yep- are you guys going to be asleep- do we need to come in the side door?"
Me: "no... we'll be up that's fine we won't make you sneak in like you normally do at 3am... :)"
Amanda: "Okay, we'll we are just about to get on the plane"
Me: "Huh? Your at the airport? Your coming today?"
Amanda: "Yeesss..."
Me: "Um... Time out for Women is Next weekend..."
Amanda: "Your kidding me right? Your joking right? Your going to say Gotcha any minute right?"
Me: "Uh... no?" laughing... "but you can still come... :) Rich actually has tomorrow off of work so he'll be around the house anyway and we'll just hang out and do something other than Time out for Women."
Amanda: "I can't believe this..." laughing...
Me: "really... we'll still have fun... :) I'll see ya at 12:30 or so... "
Amanda: "Okay, (in the background) I can't believe I got the wrong weekend, see you in a few hours!"
Me: "Bye" click. "Well Rich- Dave and Amanda are going to be here tonight at midnight! "




Fortunately the house wasn't in too bad of shape and we just had to move Ashley over to the girls room to share with them for a few nights and change some sheets and pick up some toys upstairs...

We had a fun time with them this weekend and are glad that they came, even if it was a week early. :)
