Our vacation

I'm working on getting up stuff about our trip... but it's taking a while. Stay tuned! :)

Hello...

Well last week Rich was out of town. Alex had cub scout day camp monday through friday, Alyssa and Ashley had swimming lessons monday through thursday, Angela decided since the big kids are around all day long she is not going to take naps without a major struggle and fight, and I averaged about 3 hours of sleep everynight from insomnia. It was definitly a very busy and exhausting week, but it was also fun and we got through it without any major problems. :)

This week is all about getting ready to go on vacation. We leave on Thursday. I had mentioned how I was sewing dresses for my girls and a niece for my sisters wedding- well those are not going to get completed, I made the executive decision that I had too many other things to do and they were stressing me out, so I scrapped that project and might finish them later, but definitly not for this weekend.

Oh... I mentioned how Angela is fighting taking naps... here is where I found her this afternoon about 15 minutes after trying to get her to take a nap for the third time...





Have I ever mentioned how jealous I am of those kids that lay down in their "beds" and go to sleep for naps??? :)

Bathtime

So Ashley asked if she could take a bath tonight. Both she and Alex wanted to take baths, and were fighting over who could use our bathtub- so I told them they could take baths, but had to use their bathroom and upstairs. So Alex went to their bathroom and Ashley went upstairs. All was fine until I heard Ashley yelling for me to come upstairs… I went up and found Angela in the tub- clothes, diaper and all… So I stripped her down, and let her get in the tub with Ashley.

I took the wet clothes and diaper downstairs and got clean pj’s and a clean diaper for her and brought them up. I put them on the counter and looked and found no towels, so I went downstairs and got their towels they used last night.

I hear Ashley yelling for me again… and get upstairs and find Angela’s pj’s and clean diaper in the tub… so I fish those out, and go downstairs with them along with the bathmat that got soaked. I toss all the wet clothes in the washer, and diaper in the diaper pail. Then go and get clean pj’s for Angela… Alyssa needed something, so I yelled upstairs to Ashley that I was on my way up and for her to pull the plug and start draining the water to get out.

Then Ashley starts screaming… eeeewww MOMMYY YOU HAVE TO COME SEE THIS!!! So I ran upstairs and found Angela standing next to the tub, with the two towels pulled down on the floor and a huge pile of mushy poo on the floor and her legs and feet…

Ashley was sitting in the tub trying to not start gagging…

We had a fun time tonight!!! ;)

Busy as a Bee

We've been busy here with stuff in the past few days. Saturday along with all the other Saturday things we do, Rich went and bought me a freezer and brought it home so now I've got a freezer in the garage to fill up with yummy foods. :)

Yesterday was Memorial Day and it was a good day. That morning the kids were willing to help me clean the bathrooms and I put them to work. While I was upstairs cleaning that bathroom, Alyssa managed to find some hair scissors and chop off a chunk of her hair. :( it's the hair right in front beside her face and she cut off about 4-5 inches. Now instead of being at her collarbone length, it's between her chin and ear. The good thing is that she has so much curl in her hair, and the rest is still nice and long that it really blends in. You don't notice the chunk of shorter hair unless you are playing with her hair, or looking really closely. I'm undecided whether I'll just leave it be and slowly cut an inch at a time off the longer hair untill that section catches up in length, or if I should just give her a shorter hair cut to even it out sooner.

Later in the day Ashley and I went and got haircuts. Ashley has been wanting bangs for months and so I got my hair cut, and she got some bangs cut and a trim. I should have taken some pictures of her before the cut. The bangs look really cute on her- even if I was hesitant to let her get them. :)

Then we had a family come over for dinner and the evening. The kids had a great time playing with their kids and Rich and I had fun just socializing with them. It's something we need to do more often- get out and socialize with other adults together. :)

Then I stayed up till midnight working on the dresses for my girls and niece for my sister's wedding. I hope they turn out fine and are fine for wearing anytime- not just for a wedding...

Today I got up and sent the kids off to school, and then made a batch of bread. A friend came over and used my wheat grinder to grind up some wheat and then we went to a scrapbooking day at another friends house. I got a bunch of scrapbook pages done. :)













Both Alyssa and Angela fell asleep on the way home, so now I have a brief moment or two of quiet before they wake up and the big kids come home. We'll be going to Incredible Pizza tonight for dinner and some fun- Alex got two certificates from school for an adult and child to go for free, so we can't pass up the opportunity to take the whole family for the price of one child admission that we'll have left to pay. :)

Oh... my quiet time is over... Angela's up. :)

Allergies- AGGHHH!

So this year has been horrible for allergies. I've been taking claritin and once I got it into my system it seemed to do a good job taking care of them. I forgot to take it last night and didn't remember until this morning, and I am in so much sinus pain today. :(

I did get most of the fabric cut out for the four dresses I'm making for my sisters wedding. I lost track of time and was up till after midnight getting it cut out. Rich found an XBox 360 on Ebay that was used for a really good deal so he was up late last night getting that set up and came down to our room a little after midnight and I decided to go ahead and go to sleep instead of finishing the cutting out. I was going to cut out the rest today, and starting some sewing tonight, but with this sinus pressure that is going to have to wait.

The kids were up at 5am this morning, so I'm hoping I can get a good naptime from Alyssa and Angela. If so I might lay down and take a nap too. :) Something that is so uncommon for me that it really is a luxury occurance. lol!
