Ok... well I was tagged.
Here are the questions I've been given. :)
1. What are 5 of your favorite books.
2. What are your 5 favorite movies.
3. Top 5 songs on your iPod or MP3 player.
4. List 5 things you hope to accomplish before you die.
I'm having a hard time with this though... see I have a hard time choosing favorites of things like that.
1. I LOVE to read, but mostly fiction- mysteries and clean romances... but I don't really have any favorites.
2. I LOVE to sit and watch movies with my hubbie, but it's more the experience of sitting together and watching the movie, than the actual movie itself. I like both action movies, and chick flick movies- oldies and new ones. I don't get into horror movies at all... and NO SPIDERS! (I've refused to watch aracnophobia (is that how it's spelled?)).
3. I just barely got an mp3 player for christmas, and I really only use it for working out... I have a mix of christian hit songs that have a faster tempo that I use to exercise with. I also have a few classical songs I use more in cool-down and stretching stages... I guess my favorite one of those is the cd "Songs from a secret garden". I actually have made one of those into my ringtone for my phone.
4. I think I can actually answer this questions in the way it was asked... :)
1- I want to go on a mission with my sweetheart.
2- I want to travel to other countries and experience world travel, instead of just hearing and reading about it.
3- I want to see my kids grow up and become well adjusted adults that have healthy and vibrant families.
4- I want to finish my college degree that I never finished.
5- I want to develope the ability to "see" and notice when people need help with things- I guess I want to develop my spiritual eyes more.

Short Stories...
Just some cute little stories about the kids that have happened recently:
Alex and I were going to Cubscouts and as I was leaving, I walked by the kitchen where Rich was cleaning up and doing the dishes with Angela. He was unloading the dishwasher and had given her a pan and told her to put it in a cabinet. She looked at the pan, looked and the cabinet and said "It not go in the cabinet" "It goes here" and opened the drawer (that it does belong in) and put it in there... and then walked back to rich and said "silly daddy".
Alex was laying on the floor yesterday playing Starwards Battlefront with Rich since everyone was home sick for the day. Rich kept getting killed off at one point and Alex said- "That's okay, I'll kill him for you, I'll get him, it's a piece of cake" and moved his character into the room... he got killed within seconds... Alex's response... "oh... I guess he IS hard..."
Alyssa's favorite word lately is "beautiful". She will draw a picture and then ask me if it's "beautiful". Before she goes to school she will ask me if she is beautiful, and of course as she is dressing up she talks about how it will be "so beautiful".
Yesterday we were all lounging around in pj's. Angela needed a diaper change so Rich changed it and then we told her to go and get some clothes on. This is a new independent part of her that wants to dress herself and usually she comes out with semi matching clothes- but very proud of herself. She went in her room and took about 10 minutes to come back out with a t-chirt and jeans on. She then looked at me in my pj's and said "You get dressed!" I told her I was just going to stay in my pj's for a little while longer. Her response: "I get your clothes" she went into my closet and choose a pair of jeans (never mind that they were my skinny jeans I can't fit into comfortably right now) and a shirt and brought them out to me on the couch... "Here you are... you get dressed!" :)

And it continued...
So Angela was throwing up on tuesday and tuesday night. I had about 4 hours of sleep on tuesday night so I was a little brain dead the next day, but other than that on Wednesday everyone seemed to be fine, until a few hours after bedtime. Alyssa started throwing up first around 10pm. Then knowing we could have a long night (and since I was completely exhausted from little sleep the night before), I went to bed and Rich stayed up to take care of her the first part of the night. Sometime around midnight he started getting sick, so I got up to keep taking care of her while he laid down in bed. Soon after that Ashley came out of her room- she felt like she was going to throw up. I made beds on the floor of the living room so they were closer to Rich and I's room and we could hear them- and NOT wake up Angela. By 1:30 I was starting to feel sick. By 2:30 I was sick, and as I was in the bathroom taking care of myself- Alex started to throw up in his bed... Rich was feeling slightly better so as I got sicker- he was able to get out of bed and take care of the kids. Angela also came and joined us sometime in the middle of the night- she wasn't sick- just feeling left out I guess, so I had to drag myself over to her room and lay down with her while Rich was taking care of the other kids.
I think the kids were throwing up until around 6am, and then we all crashed off into the deep sleep of sickness.
Rich got up when Angela woke up around 9 or so... and then the rest of us slept off and on all morning long. I'm so grateful that Rich was able to take care of the kids because I don't think I physically would have been able to.
So we figure there's the good and the bad to this: The good... we have now all had the flu and it won't drag on for a week while one person at a time gets it. The bad... I really have a mountain of laundry to tackle today...
I'm keeping all the kids home from school today. They were all feeling better by yesterday evening, but I thought it would be best to keep them home today... there are so many germs floating around with everyone getting sick right now- I thought a recovery day was in order.

Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck...
It seems as if every week someone different in the family is sick. We will get everyone well for a couple of days, and then someone else comes down with something. Yesterday morning Angela woke up throwing up. She continued about every half hour until noon, and then didn't for a few hours. She took a nap for a few hours and then was sitting on my lap at dinner time (she still didn't feel great) and threw up again. I had something going on that night so I left while she was getting cleaned up in the bathtub, and Rich said she didn't throw up again. She went to bed at the kids bedtime (an unusual occurance- she is usually a night owl) and we didn't hear from her until about 10:30 pm when she woke up throwing up again. Again 1/2 hour later she was throwing up, and then again in another 1/2 hour...
We decided to make a bed for her in our room since we can't hear her really well in her room and didn't want her to throw up in her sleep and lay in it... (it looked like she had a little bit the previous morning).
She then slept well for a while. Angela woke up at 4am and was hungry so I sat out in the living room with her for a little over 1 1/2 hours while she ate some crackers and then finally went back to sleep. I decided that I could go back to sleep and then be extremely tired (since I went to bed at midnight- when she was up throwing up) from only getting another 1 1/2 hours of sleep, or I could just go ahead and go exercise.
So I did. I only had an hour before I needed to be back home for Rich to go to work, but I got a quick 30 min on the elliptical, and I made it through almost the entire weight machine circuit. I didn't want to wait for the last two machines that people were on...
I KNOW I'll crash this afternoon. Hopefully Angela will take a nap and I can lay down and get one with her then since I really only got a slim 4 hours of sleep (4 hours from when I crawled into bed and when I crawled out- I never go straight to sleep- it usually takes about 10-15 minutes, and I woke up and heard Angela getting a glass of water in the kitchen for about 5 minutes before I crawled out of bed to try and get her to lay down again).

Saturdays...
On Saturday mornings Rich and Alex and Ashley enjoy playing xbox games together...

And here's a couple of pictures of the girls having a picnic with some friends last week. It was a gorgeous day outside and the kids played outside almost all day long! This week it's cold and rainy... I can't wait till spring gets here and we have warm weather every day!! :)

Great Customer Service
*****Edited*****
I was just talking about this, this past week with my mother in law. She mentioned 1-800 flowers.com because I mentioned it in this post..
Rich was there and said "huh??? They came from proflowers.com" So whoops... I gave credit for excellent customer service to the wrong company. proflowers is actually the one that gave us such awesome customer service.

So I mentioned the other day that I got flowers from Rich for valentines day. We opened them up and they looked fine, and Rich put them in the vase while I had to run out to cubscouts. The next morning the rose buds should have opened up by then, but they were not looking that great. The next day (friday) they were looking even more sad...

Rich ordered the flowers from 1-800 flowers.com and he has ordered from there in the past and they have always been beautiful fresh flowers that lasted a long time. He filled out a customer service form on their website telling them that he had ordered from them in the past and always been very happy with the orders, but we were dissapointed in what we had received this time. Within less than 30 minutes he had a reply from them. They refunded the cost of the flowers and asked us to choose a replacement boquet equal to the original value that he had paid for that they would send us next week.
I'm very happy to say that they have excellent customer service. I'll post a picture of the flowers when we get them. :)

14 Love Joy Happy Grateful things
I got tagged a little while ago, but didn't get around to it until now... It's a great day to do this though! :)
1- Well it is valentines day... :) I love Rich and the wonderful father and spouse that he is.
2- I love hearing the kids playing outside and hearing their happy joyful laughs.
3- I love to watch Rich playing games with the kids.
4- I love to make a big cup of hot cocoa, and curl up in my chair with a book to read.
5- I love to see my little girls curled up with Alex watching him play on his gameboy.
6- I love to make a dinner that pleases everyone, and have people sit down and enjoy eating it together.
7- I love how I feel when my house is all nice and clean (too bad I don't love the actual cleaning part huh?)
8- I love to sing in groups, and really hear and feel the harmonizing in songs.
9- I love to curl up on the couch and watch a movie with my sweetie.
10- I love to plan things- projects, vacations... and then see those plans work out.
11- I love Angela's "wallace and gromit" smile (we've never been able to get it on a photo, but it's the classic wallace and gromit smile from the clamation characters)
12- I love to see my kids really reading and devouring a good book.
13- I love to sit and people watch. (maybe that should be on a deep dark secrets list?) I just enjoy watching how people interact with each other.
14- I love the ability I have to interact with family and friends so easily through the internet- I know if I had to pick up a pen and write letters and send them in the mail I would not be ale to keep in touch with and strengthen friendships as well as I am able to now.

Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day everyone!
I got my valentines day present a day early. Unknown to me I had a flower delivery earlier in the day that the UPS man left on the front porch, so when Rich got home from work, he opened the front door and brought in my flowers. lol! :)
I haven't blogged much lately. Nothing big has gone on. Just little things each day. We did have a couple of girls come and spend Friday and Saturday nights with us and the girls all had a good time I think. By Sunday morning Ashley and her little friend were a little bit cranky, but I think lack of sleep and such a long time of being together were the only problem. :)
I got a great workout on Monday, but other things have kept me from being able to get back down to the Y this week... oh well... next week is a new week, I can start all over then.

Angela
Ok... here are a couple of pictures to illustrate Angela...
First are some pictures of her in the Kitchen. I came out to the kitchen after taking a shower yesterday and found her doing this. She had all the condiments from the fridge and pantry lined up on the floor. She looked up and saw me and said "I put it away mommy!" Then put all the unopened condiments into the fridge, and the opened ones in the pantry. She didn't quite understand why it mattered which ones were in the fridge. lol!
The second set of pictures is from this morning. She came into my room and said "I dressed mommy!" she did a pretty good job, but the vest is on upside down. I tried to get a picture of the back so you can really see the collar down at her waist, but she kept turning so we could see her pretty smile in the camera. lol!

Dh's...
It's the tagged game... this one is questions about our Dh's...
What is his name? Richard Sterling Newton
How long have you been married? 10 years, 4 months
How long did you date? about 5 months
How old his he? 35
Who eats more? Usually him.
Who said I love you first? I'm not sure... hm...
Who is taller? Rich
Who can sing better? I probably like to sing more, but he has a good voice too.
Who is smarter? He's a pretty smart guy... :)
Who does the laundry? Me
Who pays the bills? He does
Who sleeps on the right side? He does
Who mows the lawn? He does.
Who cooks dinner? Me
Who drives? Usually him.
Who is more stubborn? oh... it depends on what it is, if we feel strongly about something we both can be stubborn at times.
Who kissed who first? He asked me, and then he kissed me first.
Who asked who out first? We went on a couple of dates where we were set up, and then he asked me out.
Who proposed? He did
Who has more friends? Probably me... I'm a little more outgoing and I feel a "need" to make friends more strongly than he does.
Who is more sensitive? I am
Who has more siblings? I do. Rich has 3 siblings, I have 5.
Who wears the pants? Both of us. We make the decisions together, but whoever feels more strongly about something- we usually differ to what they think.
